These New Releases From YesStyle Got Me Weak

Image
The joy that comes with losing yourself in a hobby may be alluring, but the hoarder's guilt can be overwhelming. In an effort to curb my spending, arrest the growth of my beauty stash and hold myself accountable, I've opted to 'window shop' my wishlist instead. Getting to know the products I'm eyeing on a less superficial level encourages me to be mindful about my purchases, understand if I really need a new product, and remember that I probably already have a dupe in my stash. Here's what piqued my interest over the last week at YesStyle. ALOBON Peptide Soft Matte High-end Lipstick #802 Source: YesStyle I've noticed a lot more C-Beauty brands and products popping up lately. I used to think K-Beauty prices were crazy low but these ones are somehow even lower. It does make me question where they are able to 'cut corners' (if any) to achieve such low prices and if there's any trade-offs in quality. This particular lipstick is only $9.20 and the pig...

Klairs Gentle Black Facial Cleanser Review

Image
Hope you've all been well since 2020 happened and continues to spoil 2021. I don't know what your experience has been like depending on which part of the world you are. In Melbourne we're in our fourth lockdown and I've long lost interest in iso-baking and exercise, so what better impetus to resume blogging again? It coincided with the release of Klairs newest product, their Gentle Black Facial Cleanser which Wishtrend kindly provided for review.  Claims & Ingredients Low pH cleanser that removes impurities and doesn't leave the skin feeling dry. It's a foam cleanser meant to be safe for sensitive skin and contains truffle, blackberry, nigella sativa seed and soybean extracts for better hydration. I'm far from an expert on ingredients and don't know how much of these extracts are needed to be effective, or if they're even necessary (let me know your thoughts or knowledge!)  I chucked the details on CosDNA and it came up with a good safety profile...

Any links marked with an asterisk * is an affiliate link which means I earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. Any money generated goes back towards the blog and other products so I can continue reviewing them. These conditions do not affect my opinion of the item. Yoohoo Benton is back with another product! This time it's a cleansing water, and with this new addition the only product that they're missing now is a cleansing oil that I hope isn't too far away~ Cleansing waters are an essential part of my AM routine since they save a lot of time and are a far less messy ordeal than properly cleansing my face. This latest release boasts the following: Claims - Naturally derived mild cleansing water infused with tea tree leaf water and oil made in Korea - Refreshing & calming effect on tired skin while mildly cleansing - Revitalises irritated, stressed-out skin with ...

Benton Dear My Best Friend Bar Review

Image
I confess, I am terrible with body cleansing. I'm the type to jump in the shower, douse myself with water and cleanse only my face. The rest of my body however, goes unloved by the saintly textures of a cleanser due to pure laziness, so this is a review opportunity I was excited for because a) it's Benton, they make great shiz and b) now I was forced to up my hygiene standards. Claims A natural soap for both body and face. It's made with a vegetable oil base and various botanical ingredients which enable moisturising cleansing. The BF bar helps blemished skin by removing dead skin cells and excessive sebum. It is suitable for dry skin because of its moisturising vegetable oil base and its other ingredients make it suitable for sensitive skin. Packaging  I don't understand the themes of Benton packaging, it all sort of keeps changing up. The style of this reminds me of a treasure map with the yellowed edges. Anyway, the soap comes in plastic packaging a...

[JOLSE] Olivarrier Dual Moist Toning Lotion 180ml Review

Image
Jolse is one of my favourite K-Beauty sites to purchase from. They're generous with the samples, offer free shipping and have regular sales. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, regular competitions to win new products to review! I finally got the chance to try out a brand I've seen making the rounds on IG - Olivarrier.  Olivarrier gets its name from the combination of olive + barrier. Their brand rests on the principle of using olive-derived squalane to moisturise and nourish the skin without sensitising it. All of their produces are free of fragrance, preservatives and colouring agents. I was lucky enough to win the Toning Lotion, which is meant to be good for dry and sensitive skin because of its ingredients and pH balanced solution.   Disclaimer: This product was provided by Jolse for review purposes however this does not affect my opinion of the item. Product claims (From Jolse) A pH 5.5 acidulous toner for the healthy skin that protects the skin f...

Benton Papaya S-Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA++++ Review

Image
Benton has a new muse and it's... papaya! Papaya has been the inspiration behind their latest sunscreen duo. The first one that came out was the Papaya-D Sun Cream for daily wear and was SPF 38/PA+++, whereas the one that I have received is their latest release, the Papaya-S Sun Cream SPF 50+/PA++++ for sports use. Disclaimer:  This product was provided by Benton for review purposes however this does not affect  my opinion of the item. One of the conditions for receiving the product was that I needed to review it within 7 days, so if you're interested, I posted a first impressions video of the product. I'm still getting a feel for making videos, because I find I don't always cover all the points I wanted to whereas with blogging at least I can keep going back and editing before it posts. So why papaya? Benton was inspired by Christopher Columbus, the explorer who called papaya 'the fruit of the angel's'. Papaya contains polyphenols (an...
