These New Releases From YesStyle Got Me Weak

The joy that comes with losing yourself in a hobby may be alluring, but the hoarder's guilt can be overwhelming. In an effort to curb my spending, arrest the growth of my beauty stash and hold myself accountable, I've opted to 'window shop' my wishlist instead. Getting to know the products I'm eyeing on a less superficial level encourages me to be mindful about my purchases, understand if I really need a new product, and remember that I probably already have a dupe in my stash. Here's what piqued my interest over the last week at YesStyle.

ALOBON Peptide Soft Matte High-end Lipstick #802

I've noticed a lot more C-Beauty brands and products popping up lately. I used to think K-Beauty prices were crazy low but these ones are somehow even lower. It does make me question where they are able to 'cut corners' (if any) to achieve such low prices and if there's any trade-offs in quality. This particular lipstick is only $9.20 and the pigmented, matte finish looks so pretty. I'm eyeing this brownish-red hue (roughly translates to 'healthy bean paste') which apparently comes in a magnetic lipstick case. I think the tube would double as the best fidget toy which is all the more reason I probably shouldn't get this lest I drive my colleagues mad.

Edit: I misread the description. Looks like it's just the gift box it comes in, that has a magnetic clasp.

SHOBIDO - Petit Recipe x Sanrio Cinnamoroll Tinted Lip Balm

Is it just me or has Sanrio been going extra hard with the collaborations this year? There's been more stationery sets than ever, makeup collaborations and waves of Squishmallows - admittedly I can't walk past them without squeezing at least one of them so they got me there. This particular lip balm is so pretty and gives off Sailor Moon vibes. The ingredients list is very meh but it would look so good on the vanity!

LAUNDRYOU - Glow Jelly Mist PDRN

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was DedCool's Poop Drops.Unlike that fancy fecal fragrance however, this is meant for your face hole and features vitamin C and PDRN to hydrate and brighten the skin. I'm aware topical PDRN has questionable efficacy but a quick glance at the rest of the ingredients list shows it's beefed up with other promising ingredients like niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate and plenty of peptides. The jelly-to-essence texture also sounds quite different, so I'm keen to see how this fares once I make space for it in my stash.

TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL - Sway Lip Velvet

Urgh plush, velvety lippie formulas just make me weak at the knees.

What really gets me is the range of colours. Most of them are muted and not too bright or pigmented, which I really like for that casual, smudged look.

SKINTIFIC - 10% Pure Vitamin C Brightening Serum Set

Dual phase vitamin C serums may not be new to the market but the sub $20 price point has definitely caught my attention. I also like the thoughtfulness that has gone into the design to minimise oxidation and maximise freshness.

Finally I just had to add another fun collaboration product. Soft, silky hair is great at all but it would be so much better being able to see the cute faces of Line Friends characters on my vanity hehe.
