August Empties

Image
Winter has come and gone on the calendar but the weather is here to stay. As I type this in the comfort of my room and the heater is going, the rain continues to hammer down outside, and the wind lashes against the poor passerbys running for cover.  The start of Spring is usually a reminder for me to reevaluate where I am, decide what things to take with me into the future, and what things to leave behind. So behold, my August/Winter empties, bigger, better and improved with a definitive repurchase/would not repurchase (WR/WNR) rating. A post shared by Vivien (@vistillhere) on Aug 31, 2017 at 6:07pm PDT Missha Near Skin pH Cleansing Oil What: Cleansing Oil Rating: WNR I didn't think it had been that long since Missha released their pH balanced skincare line, but looks like they've already repackaged! I'm not sure if the formula has changed too, but if it hasn't, then it remains the first cleansing oil that I wasn't satisfi...

April Empties

It's been over 3 weeks since my last post and when I asked myself why I hadn't blogged during that time, I told myself I had content to study for and a practical exam to pass. Now that that's over I look back and wonder what part of that period was supposed to be difficult. Is that moving on or is that putting a filter on the past? A'Pieu Sun Gel After enjoying the A'Pieu Daily Sun Cream so much I wanted to give their other products a try. The sun gel had a distinct citrus scent, was very light, cooling and for the most part, absorbed quickly. Towards the end of the bottle it became very oily and even shaking it didn't help with the greasiness. Perhaps it was separating in the bottle the whole time and I should have been mixing the contents during each use. Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence This is a slightly viscous, transparent liquid with no scent. It absorbed quickly into my dry skin but on slightly damp skin, the essence suddenly h...

[Review] K-Beauty Sheet Mask Empties ft. Dear Packer + more

D E A R   P A C K E R    C A M E L L I A   J E J U   F L O W E R Claims According to bbcosmetic.com it is 'for skin to have rich nutrients with tight skin'. Packaging Ingredients provided in English, but the claims weren't translated. I really like the packaging, the colours are very vivid. The mask appears speckled, like the seeds of a strawberry. Fit Not bad, I made some minor adjustments. The eye shape, is downward turned and leaves parts of the undereye area naked. It felt like a soft clooth draped over my face however the chin area often slipped off. Essence 23ml. Thin consistency, akin to a light lotion that sinks in very quickly. It dried down to a slightly tacky finish. Its sweet floral scent smells divine and it lingered for the most part of the masking session (40 minutes). Very little essence remained in the packet. Effects + repurchase Admittedly I was skeptical at first and it only shows how much I underestim...

[Review] November Empties ft. Klairs

Image
I watch Youtubers and see IG posts of empties with anywhere from 5-10 empty products at the end of the month. Here I am with 2 measly skincare empties. Am I not skincare-ing properly? Eh, I have fun all the same - and just wait till I get to the mask empties post :3 This month I finally finished off two Klairs products from my first Wishtrend haul. K L A I R S    S U P P L E   P R E P A R A T I O N   F A C I A L   T O N E R Claims? - Hydrates and calms sensitive skin post-cleaning while maintaining optimum pH balance - Brightens skin and is absorbed rapidly (paraphrased from the Wishtrend description) Thoughts? Interestingly I had never heard of the product before I came across Wishtrend via a Youtuber. It was only after I made the purchase that all these rave reviews started popping up, and I can see why. The Klairs Toner was delightful to wake up to. In the mornings I would pour it generously onto a cotton pad and swipe it all over m...
