April Empties

It's been over 3 weeks since my last post and when I asked myself why I hadn't blogged during that time, I told myself I had content to study for and a practical exam to pass. Now that that's over I look back and wonder what part of that period was supposed to be difficult. Is that moving on or is that putting a filter on the past? A'Pieu Sun Gel After enjoying the A'Pieu Daily Sun Cream so much I wanted to give their other products a try. The sun gel had a distinct citrus scent, was very light, cooling and for the most part, absorbed quickly. Towards the end of the bottle it became very oily and even shaking it didn't help with the greasiness. Perhaps it was separating in the bottle the whole time and I should have been mixing the contents during each use. Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence This is a slightly viscous, transparent liquid with no scent. It absorbed quickly into my dry skin but on slightly damp skin, the essence suddenly h...

January Masks Round Up

Image
One of my 2017 resolutions is to blog twice a month and really up my communication skills. The first post of the year is a round up of some masks I've gone through, which I'll be doing regularly because I bought over a year's worth of masks and I don't intend on letting any of them go to waste. A ' P I E U chocolate milk mask The packaging is adorable but annoying. There's the outer milk carton packaging, and then an extra plastic bag within in, that the mask is kept in. Tearing along the perforated line separated the packets from each other and I'd be awkwardly fumbling around for the leftover essence. The smell was horrendous too - it's cheap and artificial and reminded me of a weird mixture of flavoured medicine coupled with overripe mango. But the fit was great - the sheet was thin and adhered well to the skin without any slippage for 40 minutes. My skin definitely looked better afterwards and was firmer from the moisture, but the smell w...

Skincare Haul ft. Skinfood+Moonshot+More

A few weeks ago I enjoyed a short trip to Korea + Taiwan. As you’d expect, I had one main goal to achieve – buy alllllllll the things. When I spent the night before returning home packing and shoving and throwing out all the beautiful, beautiful packaging I thought I had done pretty well. I had left Australia with about 8kg of essentials and returned with a fat and bloated suitcase clocking in at just over 20kg (damn you Cathay Pacific and your cut off dates. FYI if you book a ticket with them now you get a 30kg allowance) Now that I’ve finally had time to sit down and photograph my spoils I’m disappointed I didn’t check off more stuff from my wishlist, but there are good reasons other than the weight issue. I knew a lot of the items I wanted were going to be heavy so I was prepared to stock up on more items and ship it over. Turns out it wasn’t necessary. SO IF LUGGAGE ALLOWANCE WASN’T AN ISSUE, WHY DIDN’T I BUY EVERYTHING ON MY WISHLIST? Not all the cosmetics are chea...

[Review] Klairs Mid-day Blue Sun Lotion

Image
Disclaimer :  Last month Wishtrend held a competition to select 20 Beauty Testers for Klairs Mid-Day Blue Sun Lotion and I was selected as one of the testers. However this hasn't influenced my opinions of this product in any way. KLAIRS MID-DAY BLUE SUN LOTION SPF 40/PA++ CLAIMS (paraphrased from the   Klairs website ):  - Light, weightless finish without the oily feeling - Subtle glow following application - Formulated with guaiazulene to calm irritated skin and tone down redness PACKAGING? Normally I love the Klairs aesthetic but when I took the product out from the box I was disappointed. The tube seemed cheap and a bit crude, like something you'd get from Daiso.  Yep, I'm nitpicky  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ TEXTURE? Please note these tests were all performed on different days, and it's not because I felt the need to change my bed hair and clothes for every test. I was also testing different make up products, so you'll see p...
