August Empties

Image
Winter has come and gone on the calendar but the weather is here to stay. As I type this in the comfort of my room and the heater is going, the rain continues to hammer down outside, and the wind lashes against the poor passerbys running for cover.  The start of Spring is usually a reminder for me to reevaluate where I am, decide what things to take with me into the future, and what things to leave behind. So behold, my August/Winter empties, bigger, better and improved with a definitive repurchase/would not repurchase (WR/WNR) rating. A post shared by Vivien (@vistillhere) on Aug 31, 2017 at 6:07pm PDT Missha Near Skin pH Cleansing Oil What: Cleansing Oil Rating: WNR I didn't think it had been that long since Missha released their pH balanced skincare line, but looks like they've already repackaged! I'm not sure if the formula has changed too, but if it hasn't, then it remains the first cleansing oil that I wasn't satisfi...

April Makeup Capsule Collection

Image
Welcome to April's makeup mess! These are products that I've been using for the whole month. I swear the products started off much cleaner, until I hit pan for the Artclass by Rodin contour palette and the powders crumbled over the rest of the products. Still, the feeling of finishing a product is so satisfying <3  Face Bases Teint Infusion Foundation - 26 Peach Sephora Collection & BCDation BB Serum - 03 Warm Beige Tonymoly April was the month where I gave up on trying to foundation match my (much lighter) face to my neck, and did it the other way around instead. I went to Sephora to be colour matched and wore the foundation for the rest of the night (~6 hours). By itself, it was feather light, adhered to the skin well and set quickly. Despite its hydrating claim, it emphasised my smiles lines within the hour, and the edges of my face seemed too orange. The BCDation BB serum stopped the Sephora foundation from immediate oxidisation, an...

[Review] February Makeup Capsule Collection

Image
@Skinsitivity  does makeup capsule collections and as soon as the IG algorithm decided to let me know about this awesome idea I jumped on board. Her idea was to restrict herself to select products each fortnight which has a lot of benefits that I'm digging. Not having to ooh and ah over the different combinations every morning was definitely a key reason why I was so keen, that and making sure I was using up older products. The lineup definitely changed over the fortnight, as I learnt new things about some older products. Base  - Nature Republic Pure Waterful Base (unpictured) Foundation  - Guerlain Parure Gold Radiance Foundation SPF 30 PA+++ (02 Beige Clair) Concealer  - Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer (02 Light Medium) Corrector  - NYX Dark Circle Corrector (Light/Pale) Apologies that the NR base isn't included here, I threw it out and a day later decided I should blog about this -.- Two weeks spent with it convinced me that it was a ...

Beauty People 365 Stay Waterproof Brush Pen Eye Liner

BEAUTY PEOPLE 365 STAY WATERPROOF BRUSH PEN EYE LINER 03 Appeal Brown US $10.90 – 0.5g I can't remember how my eyeliner obsession started. All I know is last year I started off with 2 basic black liners, and now my collection has doubled multiple times. Somehow I still haven't mastered the art of symmetrical cat eyes #fwp My local K-Beauty shop was doing a -20% sale on Beauty People products. Funny thing was that I specifically tested a shimmery gel liner and loved the pigmentation, yet somehow walked away with their liquid liner instead. By the time I was home I wasn't bothered to go back for an exchange, so I settled with this product, in hopes it would perform well. CLAIMS? (from Yesstyle.com ) "Slim brush allows for drawing of fine lines throughout the entire day. Waterproof, oilproof prevents smudging and lasts for longer period of time Create a line from beginning to end along the lash line" EASE OF USE? The...
