Does It Dupe? Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick vs Mecca Max Off Duty Contour Stick Review

Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick vs Mecca Max Off Duty Contour Stick

As much as I love shopping at the beauty wonderland that is Mecca, my wallet can't say the same. Only once in a while will I splurge on a higher-end product, and then the guilt of overspending compels me to find a more affordable alternative. This is how I ended up with these two contour sticks - the Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick (WA) in shade Biscuit and Mecca Max Off Duty Contour Stick (MM) in shade Medium.

Texture

WA - definitely softer and creamier. You can see the moisture beading from being near the afternoon sun when these photos were taken

MM - still creamy but isn't as sensitive to temperature changes. Takes more effort to blend out

Experience

Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick vs Mecca Max Off Duty Contour Stick, packaging,
Top: WA
Second: WA blended
Third: MM
Fourth: MM blended

Overall I prefer the WA contour stick. It's very beginner friendly and is easily worked into the skin without much effort. I like how natural it appears and easily warms up the face. The weighted packaging and the magnetic cap adds to the experience, of course.

I'm surprised MM still hasn't come out with a lighter shade after all these years, as the Medium shade only works for me during summer. Shade mismatch side, it does offer better coverage with its heavier pigmentation, but also takes more effort to blend. Personally I'm usually in a rush and can't be bothered spending that extra time to make it work.
