Benton Cacao Moist and Mild Cream Review

Image
Disclaimer: I received this product from Benton in exchange for a review however this does not affect my opinion of the product. I'm super thankful to brands and companies that hold competitions for product reviewers. It means small, shabby potatoes like me can save a few bucks and still indulge in the experience of testing out a new item whee~ Benton is one such brand to pay attention to, and not just because they hold giveaways haha. They're cruelty free and produce affordable products with great ingredients. I've used their Snailbee Essence before and loved it because it's the first product I've used that clearly reduces my redness. Needless to say, I was very excited to have the opportunity to try out their latest creation. Claims - Lightweight texture - Suitable for Summer - Moist finish - Water-oil balance - Mild formula 'Benton’s Cacao Moist and Mild Cream is a lightweight cream made of healthy ingredients. Unik Black Snail Restore Serum Review

Image
Disclaimer:   I received this for free from unique4u.net in exchange for a review. However this does not affect my opinion of this product.  I was researching content for uni, and the next minute I realised half my tabs were all to do with internet shopping. At some point I came across Unique4u who was doing a giveaway of the Unik Black Snail Restore serum and my lucky ass who was on a semi-strict no-buy period at the time was one of the ones to ask and receive. I've never heard of this brand before; according to the website they're a new brand and 'Unik' stands for Unique & Natural Ingredients Knowhow. Unik Black Snail Restore Serum 50 mL/1.71 fl oz. Claims 'Powerful Skin Restore Nourishing & Lifting Whitening & Wrinkle Care This serum can help to make skin restore and smooth with black snail extract water 70% and 5 black super food (black rice, black bean, black sesame, eggplant, sea tangle) extract.' Updated Korean-Inspired Skincare Routine

Image
What does my skincare routine have in common with uni textbooks? They're both updated frequently and are outdated by the time they're in print, and they take generous bites out of my bank account. By the time I post this at least two of these items will have become empties, so I figured they should get their time in the spotlight before they step off their pedestal. 1. Skinfood Black Sugar Cleansing Oil (Oil Cleanse) I've never met an ineffective oil cleanser, and this one by Skinfood is no exception. It has some obvious slip to it and so doesn't feel thick and viscious. It emulsifies my makeup quickly and gently, and leaves my skin feeling conditioned after rinsing. The only product that it takes longer to scrub off are lip tint products, but that's why companies invented tint remover right? Cleasning oil in action. The most stubborn of the swatches would be that massive pink stain there belonging to a Tonymoly tint. The rub and rinse. The ...

April Empties

Image
It's been over 3 weeks since my last post and when I asked myself why I hadn't blogged during that time, I told myself I had content to study for and a practical exam to pass. Now that that's over I look back and wonder what part of that period was supposed to be difficult. Is that moving on or is that putting a filter on the past? A'Pieu Sun Gel After enjoying the A'Pieu Daily Sun Cream so much I wanted to give their other products a try. The sun gel had a distinct citrus scent, was very light, cooling and for the most part, absorbed quickly. Towards the end of the bottle it became very oily and even shaking it didn't help with the greasiness. Perhaps it was separating in the bottle the whole time and I should have been mixing the contents during each use. Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence This is a slightly viscous, transparent liquid with no scent. It absorbed quickly into my dry skin but on slightly damp skin, the essence suddenly h...

April Makeup Capsule Collection

Image
Welcome to April's makeup mess! These are products that I've been using for the whole month. I swear the products started off much cleaner, until I hit pan for the Artclass by Rodin contour palette and the powders crumbled over the rest of the products. Still, the feeling of finishing a product is so satisfying <3  Face Bases Teint Infusion Foundation - 26 Peach Sephora Collection & BCDation BB Serum - 03 Warm Beige Tonymoly April was the month where I gave up on trying to foundation match my (much lighter) face to my neck, and did it the other way around instead. I went to Sephora to be colour matched and wore the foundation for the rest of the night (~6 hours). By itself, it was feather light, adhered to the skin well and set quickly. Despite its hydrating claim, it emphasised my smiles lines within the hour, and the edges of my face seemed too orange. The BCDation BB serum stopped the Sephora foundation from immediate oxidisation, an...

5 Days of multi-step masks because I ceebs with 10-step routines

Now that it's mid-trimester break I can spend more time taking photos that I'm satisfied with. It just sucks that the break has coincided with a time where I'm becoming increasingly lazy with my routine - once I even left the house with no sunscreen on le gasp and either my neck was burned or it was patchy from having a persistent cat walk over my face when I was sleeping idk. To make sure my skin doesn't shrivel up into a walnut shell I settle for short, concentrated dosages in the form of multi-step masks. I had an average experience with my first ever multi-step from SNP so the benchmark wasn't high when I tried these masks out. JayJun Baby Pure Shining Mask Step 1. Blooming Essence (1.5 mL) Step 2.
