Moonshot for Men Grooming BB Cream + High Cut Sun Cream Review

Image
Everytime I think about Moonshot's men's line I become slightly bitter. When I was at the Bigbang A-Z Exhibition they had a Moonshot popup store and there was a good deal for the MFM line, but they only did tax refunds at the Myeongdong store. The sales assistant assured me they would have the same discount pack at their main store but they liiiiied and now here I am, having ordered them full price from their online store and paying for shipping  *shakes fist towards my far point* Let's start with the BB cream cause that's the way the photos uploaded. Moonshot is very consistent with their packaging, it's always sleek, minimal, and they really like glossy black caps. Claims "No sticky and oil! BB cream that offers SPF30, PA+++ sun protection while concealing imperfections and dullness naturally, Grooming BB cream for fantastic first experience" The English isn't great but good on you guys for translating the ingredients <3 ...

[Review] Moonshot GD Microfit & Dara Moonflash Cushion

Image
Welcome to the first post of (mostly) Moonshot March! This whole month I'm testing only Moonshot products, with the exception of other brands to cover the categories I don't own a Moonshot product for. If you haven't heard of Moonshot, they're a Korean company that was started by YG Entertainment in 2014. GD & Dara were their first celebrity endorsers and each of them had a cushion named after them - the GD Microfit Cushion and Dara Moonflash Cushion, Over the last week I've been exclusively using this cushion duo for my daily makeup. The Microfit Cushion comes in a cool holograhic box. The cushion case has a reflective coating on the topside that is easily stained by fingerprints, while the back is matte. It's your standard cushion which uses a puff to stamp the product onto your face. Each pack contains 12g of product, however some websites do offer a special edition pack that comes with an extra refill. Moonshot cushion puff...

[Review] February Makeup Capsule Collection

Image
@Skinsitivity  does makeup capsule collections and as soon as the IG algorithm decided to let me know about this awesome idea I jumped on board. Her idea was to restrict herself to select products each fortnight which has a lot of benefits that I'm digging. Not having to ooh and ah over the different combinations every morning was definitely a key reason why I was so keen, that and making sure I was using up older products. The lineup definitely changed over the fortnight, as I learnt new things about some older products. Base  - Nature Republic Pure Waterful Base (unpictured) Foundation  - Guerlain Parure Gold Radiance Foundation SPF 30 PA+++ (02 Beige Clair) Concealer  - Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer (02 Light Medium) Corrector  - NYX Dark Circle Corrector (Light/Pale) Apologies that the NR base isn't included here, I threw it out and a day later decided I should blog about this -.- Two weeks spent with it convinced me that it was a ...

[Review] February Sheet Masks ft. Labiotte

Image
Labiotte is a sister brand to Tonymoly and sets itself apart as the older sibling whose tastes have progressed beyond cute animal products, and now has a more 'refined' palate for objects of elegance and greater complexity. Or according to their US website , botanical based functional cosmetics. Personally I didn't hear about them until reviews of their Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tints started appearing all over YT, and then they were mentioned in that EXO song . But how do their skincare products fare? I have mixed feelings about their masks, so read on to see which ones I recommend :) BLOOMING ESSENCE SERIES Phyto Ceramide Sheet Mask Claims to give vitality and supply moisture to dry skin with its combination of plant-derived ceramide and microfiber sheet. Contrary to the series name, the Blooming Essence Ceramide mask is an emulsion-type mask. The thin mask comes with single-sided netting to help with the unfolding. There's a surprising amount of ...

[Review] Basic Skincare Routine feat. Pearlosophy

Image
If you're new to skincare, an extensive routine no doubt appears daunting. There are serums and essences, ampoules and treatments etc. etc. and maybe all you're after is healthy, balanced skin. There are 3 key skincare products which will no doubt help you on your way - a cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen.  A dear friend gifted me Pearlosophy products, which happened to all be essentials for a basic routine. Basic skincare routine trio 1. CLEANSER  O2 Clean Good Cleanser Whether or not you wear makeup, a good, gentle cleanser is absolutely necessary. During the day you may be sweating, or in contact with lots of dust and other allergens that can cling onto your skin and contribute to a dull appearance. A cleanser can help banish these pollutants, plus it's a great way to wake yourself up if you're not a morning person :P  Look for cleansers with a pH of about 5.5. This is the pH of the acid mantle on your face, which helps to prevent bacteria f...

[Review] Son&Park's Beauty Water

Image
Claims? (taken from Sokoglam) Beauty Water is ideal: - As a toner before application of the rest of your skin care products - To remove remaining impurities after cleansing - As a way to freshen your face during the day First Impressions I'm always hesitant to try products that are highly raved about because it sets up ultra high expectations. I tackled the deluxe sample size bottle first, because using up a full product, large or small, always feels so damn good. The deluxe bottle contained 60ml and lasted  a little under 3 weeks. For the first two weeks I used it purely on the right side of my face by soaking a cotton pad and sweeping it across my face and neck. The sensation was always odd - it would leave my skin with a clean, fresh feeling, the feeling you get after sanitising your hands or using an alcohol swab.  I think I was so 'eh' about the product even after finishing the deluxe size because I expected some sort of extreme, magical tr...

January Masks Round Up

Image
One of my 2017 resolutions is to blog twice a month and really up my communication skills. The first post of the year is a round up of some masks I've gone through, which I'll be doing regularly because I bought over a year's worth of masks and I don't intend on letting any of them go to waste. A ' P I E U chocolate milk mask The packaging is adorable but annoying. There's the outer milk carton packaging, and then an extra plastic bag within in, that the mask is kept in. Tearing along the perforated line separated the packets from each other and I'd be awkwardly fumbling around for the leftover essence. The smell was horrendous too - it's cheap and artificial and reminded me of a weird mixture of flavoured medicine coupled with overripe mango. But the fit was great - the sheet was thin and adhered well to the skin without any slippage for 40 minutes. My skin definitely looked better afterwards and was firmer from the moisture, but the smell w...
