5 Days of multi-step masks because I ceebs with 10-step routines

Now that it's mid-trimester break I can spend more time taking photos that I'm satisfied with. It just sucks that the break has coincided with a time where I'm becoming increasingly lazy with my routine - once I even left the house with no sunscreen on le gasp and either my neck was burned or it was patchy from having a persistent cat walk over my face when I was sleeping idk. To make sure my skin doesn't shrivel up into a walnut shell I settle for short, concentrated dosages in the form of multi-step masks. I had an average experience with my first ever multi-step from SNP so the benchmark wasn't high when I tried these masks out.

JayJun Baby Pure Shining Mask
Step 1. Blooming Essence (1.5 mL)
Step 2. Intensive Shining Mask (25 mL)
Step 3. Hydro Eye Cream (1.5 mL)

Claims
(taken from StyleKorean.com)

STEP 1: Blooming Essence
This essence contains Rosa Damascena Flower Water and vegetable oil which work to provide an abundance of moisture and soothe tired and dry skin that has been damaged by the environment.

STEP 2: Shining Mask Pack
This facial mask sheet contains numerous ingredients that work to hydrate and brighten the skin whilst providing a wealth of nutrients to prevent premature wrinkling.

STEP 3: Hydro Eye Cream
This cream is exclusively for the eyes and help to smooth out fine wrinkles and ensure the retention of moisture whilst proving nutrients that help prevent rough skin.

Scent
The blooming essence had a herbal, floral scent to it.

Texture
When I emptied out the essence packet into my hand it was a wobbly jelly texture that dissolved immediately upon application. I liked that it wasn't too watery and didn't slip and slide as I applied it on my face. Say no to unnecessary wastage kids.

Experience
Before the essence was dry I slipped on the sheet mask for 20 minutes. The mask comes drenched in essence and has an immediate cooling effect. Its material is thin and sits comfortably except the fit is too darn wide and large. Seriously what is it with masks that have a massive gap between the nose and mouth and leaves your chin out in the harsh open? Since I had to fold it over I couldn't sip my tea and pretend to be a successful writer without the mask bunching up.

The mask essence settles down to a tacky finish and there's plenty for my arms and legs, but other than hydration I didn't see a crazy brightening effect. The GD mask definitely delivered better results in that department. Finally the eye cream was surprisingly emollient, perfect for my dry skin and nourishing the neck area as well. It's definitely too heavy and greasy if you're looking to jump straight into makeup afterwards. If there was a crazy sale for a box of these, I'd pick them up for a week of lazy night routines.

GD Fantastic Shining Mask
Step 1. Fantastic Cleansing Form (1.5 mL)
Step 2. Fantastic Shining Mask (25 mL)
Step 3. Fantastic Eye Cream (1.5 mL)

I've done a comprehensive review of this mask already and you can check that out over here. For the most part I enjoyed using the GD mask because of its ~fantastic~ brightening effects however I wouldn't rely on it alone to get me through winter cuz I'm a dry skin non-binary person. I prefer this mask over the JayJun one for its better effects and the inclusion of a cleanser, but the GD mask only has 5 sheet masks per box compared to 10 in a JayJun box set *cries*

Leaders Mediu Vitamino Calming Mask
Step 1. Vitamino Calming Ampoule (2 mL)
Step 2. Vitamino Calming Mask (25 mL)
Step 3. Vitamino Calming Cream (2 mL)

Claims
(taken from Sephora SG)
Calm irritated or sensitive skin with Leader Insolution’s 3-step Mediu Vitamino calming sheet mask. Vitamins and amino acids enrich and soften skin, while aloe helps soothe and protect. Each step—the ampoule, the sheet mask and the cream—is clearly marked on the packaging for a process that’s as easy as 1-2-3.

Scent
For steps 1&2 it was near unscented. Step 3 had a strong, fresh floral scent, just like The Face Shop's No Shine Chia Seed Cream.

Texture
The ampoule was clear and slightly viscous, but compared to Dewytree this one was far more runny. Similarly the gel cream was light and refreshing.

Experience
Another meh experience. Tbh I bought this mask only because Sephora happened to be running a free laptop sleeve promotion and this was one of the 'cheapest' things I could buy (still cut $6 from my wallet). None of the steps absorbed particularly quickly, nor did they blow me away with their results. The best thing about this was the comfortable fit of the mask - it was like a second skin, slightly wider than my face, but so light and adherent that I could comfortably tilt my head downwards and wash my makeup brushes without the mask slipping. Step 3 was a gel cream so I knew the moisture wouldn't last and I needed to layer it with a more occlusive cream anyway. These masks are no longer available from Sephora AU, and I could only find them on the SG site.

A 3-step nutritive & hydrating facial treatment
Step 1: Royal peeling foam
Formulated with snail mucus extract to mildly remove pore waste & sebum

Step 2: Activator ampoule
Contains hyaluronic acid & propolis extract to provide natural protection & moisture

Step 3: Royal snail black mask
Features a cotton sheet with charcoal coating, snail mucus extract & royal jelly extract Helps absorb impurities while delivering nutrients & smoothing wrinkles Skin appears clearer, more elastic, radiant, healthier & younger looking

Scent
The foam smells like Dove soap whereas the mask was lightly fragranced, akin to fruit candy.

Texture
The ampoule was a clear, viscous liquid that was almost jelly like yet t it absorbed quickly and seamlessly into the skin.

Experience
I didn't notice any peeling from using the cleanser, nor did I see any telltale signs of brightening. It was definitely effective at removing my makeup without stripping my skin too much, however it did cause the sensitive areas of my face to sting. The ampoule was light and mildly hydrating whilst the mask was a comfortable fit and drenched in so much essence that I could sit upwards without fear of it slipping off. 30 minutes later the mask remained moderately soaked and my face was hydrated. I wouldn't repurchase given the price and the soapy fragrance.

J.One Jelly Pack Vita Mask
Step 1. J.One Jelly Pack Vita Mask (27 mL)
Step 2. J. One Jelly Pack (2mL)

Claims
(taken from Glowrecipe.com)

The Gist:
The Jelly Pack Vita Mask is a wrinkle-defying 2-step treatment mask that firms and softens the skin.
How it works:
Step One's mask sheet is made of soft, moisture locking Tencel fabric that perfectly conforms to the contours of the face, helping the superpowered essence sink deeply into the skin. Formulated with Hyaluronic Acid, fermented Black Tea extract, and 'oxygen magnet' Fullerene to revitalize and oxygenate the skin. Skin feels smoother, softer, and fine lines are visibly reduced. Step Two harnesses the power of  the original J. One Jelly Pack, helping to lock moisture into the skin and provide visible lift and firmness!
Packaging
Not a lick of the ingredients or instructions are in English except for the name of the mask and which step came first...and yet the first time I used it I still managed to put on step 2 first OTL

Texture
The Jelly Pack is ridiculously sticky. I've read online that it's supposed to be a magical primer but my initial experience with it was still mind boggling.

Experience
This reminded me of the Klairs sheet mask. It was oversized and made from a heavier material that didn't completely adhere to my skin, but the effects were pretty good. It evened out my skin tone and plumped up my skin, making me look less like an angry tomato and more human.

Step 2 was confusing. It looked and felt like liquid glue and I didn't know how on earth it was going to be absorbed and still act as the miraculous primer other users claim it to be. Frustrated with the amount of time it took to absorb, I eventually gave up and went about the rest of my routine. And y'know what? Despite my skin flaking and peeling for the days before using the mask, that day my foundation applied incredibly smoothly. Nay, it glided like a hockey puck and my foundation stayed radiant and dewy for hours afterwards. After watching several YT videos on it I think my mistake was applying the entire packet all at once and trying to rub it in, whereas applying a thin layer at a time would have been easier to cope with. It sucks that there's no cleanser included but hell yeah I would repurchase this.
