- As a way to freshen your face during the day

First Impressions

I'm always hesitant to try products that are highly raved about because it sets up ultra high expectations. I tackled the deluxe sample size bottle first, because using up a full product, large or small, always feels so damn good. The deluxe bottle contained 60ml and lasted  a little under 3 weeks. For the first two weeks I used it purely on the right side of my face by soaking a cotton pad and sweeping it across my face and neck. The sensation was always odd - it would leave my skin with a clean, fresh feeling, the feeling you get after sanitising your hands or using an alcohol swab.

I think I was so 'eh' about the product even after finishing the deluxe size because I expected some sort of extreme, magical transformation like a photoshop finish, since I've seen so many reviews about it as a holy grail product. Because of that clouded thinking I wasn't fussed about blogging my impressions until I moved onto the full size bottle and incorporated it into my regular skincare routine. By then I began to see its effects on my skin and it reminded me that skincare experiences are personal ones.

Cleansing

Let's start with its cleansing powers. For removing residual traces of makeup, it's superb. Somehow it managed to pick up any impurities I had missed out on even after double cleansing and adjusting my cleansing technique. Next, I compared it to two micellar waters by Swisse skincare and ModelCo. Swisse was perhaps the most gentle, but also ineffective because it left a film on the cotton pad, which reduced the friction and so it picked up less residue.

Hydrating

Modelco was about as good at removing leftover makeup, however it imparted little moisture, whereas Beauty water provided mild hydration effects which softened my skin, and felt more refreshing.

Exfoliating

Another change I noticed was the area around the side of my nose was much clearer. Normally it was plagued with whiteheads that never left, but something about the Beauty Water kept them at bay. However the smaller clogged pores riddled right against my nose didn't budge.

The Verdict

After two months of testing, I warmed up to the product and it's my favourite part of my morning skincare routine now. I avoid cleansing in the morning to keep what little moisture is left in my skin, however with the Beauty Water I'm confident that my skin is clean because I can see all the impurities left on the cotton pad. As a bonus, it's the best for flatlaying since it doesn't need to be held in place with blu-tack :P
