[Review] November Empties ft. Klairs

I watch Youtubers and see IG posts of empties with anywhere from 5-10 empty products at the end of the month. Here I am with 2 measly skincare empties. Am I not skincare-ing properly? Eh, I have fun all the same - and just wait till I get to the mask empties post :3 This month I finally finished off two Klairs products from my first Wishtrend haul.

Thoughts?
Interestingly I had never heard of the product before I came across Wishtrend via a Youtuber. It was only after I made the purchase that all these rave reviews started popping up, and I can see why.

The Klairs Toner was delightful to wake up to. In the mornings I would pour it generously onto a cotton pad and swipe it all over my face. It had a cooling effect and was a great initial hydrating layer that made my skin feel soft again. On nights where I opted for a hot shower and my cheeks felt sensitive, I would drench a few more cotton pads and leave them on my face as a mini mask to soothe and calm my skin.

It does contain essential oils including citrus oils and lavender, which contribute to its distinct scent. I’ve read some contrasting arguments about essential oils, some saying they’re natural and good for the skin while others claim it can cause lasting damage that won’t be immediately visible. While I lean towards the latter side, the material I've read probably wasn't written by an expert, nor have I looked into journal articles about it yet. Until I get off my ass and do some research, I won't be repurchasing this yet (also cause I've got 6 other bottles of toner to test out soooooo). Have you read much about the essential oils debate? What's your take on it?

First of all this has nothing to do with Mecca - I just really appreciate their holiday packaging and wanted to show them some love haha. I used the Klairs product immediately after trying the Sephora Oil Cleanser. Initially I was meh about it because it seemed to be a smaller and more costly product, but I really grew to enjoy it. The oil was quite runny and certainly not as thick as the Banila Co Clean It Zero, which I would use interchangeably as a first step cleanser. I would rub it in until most of my makeup had dissolved. before rinsing it off in the shower. It was effective with removing eyeliner and cream eyeshadows without irritating my eyes. Despite having a faint scent, it never sensitised my skin nor did it ever feel stripping.

One qualm I had was how quickly I used up the product. The viscosity of the Sephora Oil Cleanser meant I only needed 2-3 pumps to cover the area of my neck and face whereas with the Klairs Oil Cleanser, I typically needed at least 4 pumps to break up the makeup. It's for this reason that I'd repurchase only if it was on sale.

Now if you're interested in purchasing any of these products, don't forget that you can use my code '1211447905' for $5 USD off your Wishtrend order. If you make a purchase I'll also get $5 USD credit which means I can buy more things to review without being an utterly broke student ahahahahaha.

Thanks for the support guys, until next time
